Workshop Agenda

The workshop is split into four sections: basics, news posts, utility pages, and marketing pages. Each section will have about 20 minutes of guided instruction and 10 minutes for learners to apply what they have just learned.

Basics

Learn how to use the fundamental blocks that will be used on any webpage. Blocks include:

  • Headings
  • Paragraphs
  • Lists
  • Buttons
  • Feature Content
  • Images
  • Fact List
  • Hero/header area

News Posts

News posts allow you to post timely information for your users to consume. A news post may discuss an upcoming event, impactful work that a group is performing, or showcase student profiles.

Blocks covered in this section include:

  • Related Stories
  • Highlight
  • Blockquote
  • Pullquote

Categories and tags are also discussed.

Utility Pages

Utility pages are often information dense and users usually have a specific question that they are seeking an answer to. Through strategic use of headings, lists, and callout boxes, you can help your users more easily skim and focus in on the piece of information they seek.

Blocks covered in this section include:

  • Form
  • Spotlight
  • Featured Content
  • Fact List
  • Video Image
  • Accordion
  • Events

Marketing Pages

Marketing pages are often browsed and skimmed by clients who have an interest in becoming more aware of and/or engaged with an entity or topic.

Since these pages have a different purpose than utility pages, different types are often used to help the user more easily navigate and consume information on the page.

Blocked covered in this section include:

  • Media Divider
  • Email Signup
  • Big Fact
  • Testimonial
  • Ministory
  • Automated Posts

Placeholder Content

If you need to populate content during the workshop, the Placeholder Content page has text that can be used. The Media Library of this site has already been pre-populated with photography that can be used.
